How we make money

We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. This never affects our verdicts.

Affiliate commissions

When you click a "Go to retailer" button, you pass through a link on our domain (/go/...) that records the click and sends you to the retailer's own page. If the retailer runs an affiliate program we belong to, that link carries our tracking identifier, and if you buy within the program's attribution window the retailer or its network pays us a commission. The price you pay is the same.

Where we have no program with a retailer, the link is a plain link. We never hide a retailer because it does not pay us, and we never move one up because it pays more.

What this can never affect

• The FlexiScore and the verdict: the scoring code has no access to affiliate data, and a test on every build proves that mutating every commission rate leaves every score, verdict and ranking unchanged.
• Which products get a page: pages are created by a quality gate based on data richness, uniqueness, demand and completeness.
• Comparisons: "better value now" and "spec advantage" are computed behind the same boundary.

Once the site carries live pricing we will publish a quarterly audit summary on the methodology page. None has run yet: no verdict has been produced from real price data, so there is nothing yet to audit.

Cashback portals

We show cashback portals in the true-cost calculation even though using one usually replaces our tracking cookie with theirs, which means we earn nothing on that purchase. We accept that because the true cost is what you asked for.

Retailer-required statements

Some programs require a specific sentence on pages that carry their links (Amazon Associates, for example). We are not yet a member of any such program, so every retailer link on the site is currently a plain link, and those sentences will appear here and on the affected pages the day a program is approved.

What we do not do

• No sponsored placements, paid rankings, or "featured" slots.
• No third-party advertising or ad trackers on any page.
• No sale of personal data; see the privacy policy.

Future revenue

If we introduce a paid membership, it will add features (alerts, history exports) and will never change the free verdicts or the data behind them.
